The Glock MOS system suffers because the optic plates suck. Your OEM plates are badly molded metal, often don’t sit flush, lose threading, and place the lion’s share of stress on the screws holding the optic to the plate. CHPWS solved this issue entirely. Hands down their plates are the best engineered solution, and they really have solved every possible issue with V4. The optic fits snug on the plate, and has to be pressed onto the posts; that’s some amazing part tolerance. The T-posts give you a total of four posts for the optic to hold onto in recoil, and are removable should you somehow strip or mangle one. It’s unlikely you’ll strip the post, but should you snap off a screw head, the posts have a hole in the bottom allowing you to put a drill bit under the screw and push it out. The plates are thinner than factory, they hold the optic on the front and back, and short of milling a slide are the best option out there. The plates ship with three screws for the optic so you have an extra, and stainless screws to mount the plate on the slide. Unlike the factory plates, CHPWS plates pretty much hold zero if you have to remove the optic for a battery change. It won’t be a perfect zero, but your impact will be within an inch or so of where it should be. That’s good enough to allow you to swap a dead battery without having to run to the range immediately.
