After using for pet bedding soak it and drain the excess water which is full of nutrients to water plants. After a half a day or so you can give the wet bedding to the worms. You move the bedding aside and put your veggie scraps and this bedding on top keeps bugs from getting to the other scraps. If you do get some other bugs you add diaematious earth on top also. **Q: Does this contain scent or baking soda?** A: No scent in this one (they make scented ones) and as far as I know there is no baking soda in this one. It's just ground up paper. **Q: Is the "Natural" bedding scent free? Just want to be sure. Do they give any clues as to what it is made from?** A: It smells a little bit paper like, but there's no artificial scent to mask odors. That being said, we have to guinea pigs and this bedding really didn't smell bad after a few days at all. **Q: how many days odor control?** A: Hi there! It also helps keep most of the odor away. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great - bedding for colony of 7 *by P***I on February 15, 2024* I rescued 2 young injured deer mice sometime last year who were found under my neighbor's house, and as it turned out one was a pregnant female, and so I ended up with a colony of 7! I have two LARGE enclosures, one with 3 (in-tact) males and one with 4 females. (mouse lovers, take a breath and don't worry! Deer mice are more communally adaptive than fancies/house mice and are generally not aggressive towards other males, & my mice are under constant surveillance via HD camera so I know for certain there is no aggression amongst them, & should there ever be I'm prepared to separate! ♥) This is the only bedding I use. I started using this bedding when me and my partner were really struggling financially, but I see no reason to change even if we could afford more "top shelf" things. This is the least expensive option I have found for the amount of bedding changes I have to do in order to keep my mice's homes healthy for them and provide them the kind of depth/volume to their bedding that they deserve for their enrichment and burrowing activities. This bedding is absorbent, comfortable, and soft. It's everything the description says it is. It even holds a shape nicely for tunnels and burrows!
