For the first year that I made soap, I used a candy thermometer and hated waiting for the thermometer to work. I upgraded to a digital thermometer and used that for several years. It was OK, but still a pain to use and needed to be cleaned after every use. I recently decided to make my life easier and get this temp gun. I LOVE IT!! It's super easy to use, accurate, and doesn't even touch my soap, so I hardly ever have to clean it. I am kicking myself for not spending just a small amount more to get this years ago. I have had it for a few months now. It always works well, no glitches.
