I would say this cake liner is very comparable. I bought the black ( not the navy ) . I'm getting older and liquid liners are beginning to look harsh or me. I love the cake liners because I can control the intensity of the color. Also my old eyes are more sensitive than they use to be. I used to be able to wear ( smudgefree pencil liner all day, but not anymore.This cake liner doesn't smudge, and lasts for most of the day ( not all day, but longer than pencils or liquid liner ) I would recommend this eye liner. **Q: Can you use this product dry?** A: Using it dry gives a very light application without a lot of pigment. Some people like to use this to give a light touch of color on their lower lashline, for example. The best way to use this product is either wet or damp, since it dries to a long lasting and highly pigmented finish. **Q: Can you please take talc out of your eyeshadow?** A: There is no talc in this liner at all! **Q: Is this a very dark blue when on (like black with a little color) ? I would use dry.
