I don't think butt size would affect which way the pee flows. You need to get gravity working with you and tip the narrow open end down towards the ground and make sure your urine is falling into the cup at the wider end. As long as the urine falls in the cup and the narrower end is tilted down, gravity should cause all the urine to flow down and out the end of the spout. I purchased a shewee a few months ago, and after a few practices at home (in the shower/bath), I was disappointed using it in reality; even while squatting, the funnel was not big enough to catch everything, no matter which way round I was using it, and resulted in multiple spillages and lots of wet knickers/trousers - had to be said! Anyway I did some web research and found a useful comparison of four female portable urinary devices, and the Pstyle came out tops. So I bought it, and so far have had more luck in practice at home than I ever did with the shewee. The material is quite hard, and you have to kind of wedge it up against yourself to catch everything. However it is very sturdy and steady, your urine will flow out of you and straight ahead/down, depending on which direction you're holding it.
