If I were going to Birchwood Casey gunstock wax would be my choice. **Q: What is the recommended cure time before sanding (dry and wet)?** A: For guitars, I put at least 4 or 5 coats on. Wait a day, lightly 320 it and get rid of any peel. Then another 5 ot 6 coats and let it cure 2 to 3 weeks. Then wetsand and buff out. Start with 800 to 1000 gritt for wet sanding. This is for a guitar. Furniture similar but not nearly as much lacquer **Q: I had an electric guitar body just back from the shop with only one coat of clear. I'd like to have more protection, sand and buff. Will this work?** A: I wouldn’t use it. It takes some effort, a little knowledge, and a long off gassing period of at least a few months. It has strong VOC (fumes). I knew that, and so should you. I purchased Mohawk nitro after trying another brand of nitrocellulose laquer. The other brand is known for guitar finishing. Even though my house is climate controlled and low humidity, the other brand, blushed and turned white very bad. This ruined the guitar finish and costed me 50 in materials and about 4 hours sanding down the guitar. The Mohawk brand was my final effort to do nitrocellulose. It turned out beautiful! I still have yet to polish it, but it's already very pleasing. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A great glossy nitro finish.
