If you set it up for bluetooth then you have to make sure bluetooth is ON for it to sync with the app. **Q: Does anyone use this scale with the free version of the Lose It app? If so, how well does it work?** A: Yes. It does. You need to use the WIthings app on your phone to set up the scale. That app will keep track of your weight, BMI, blood pressure, etc....but it is not necessary to use it beyond the initial set up. Then you'll use your LoseIt app to connect the scale to your Withings sign in--then the scale will sync to the Withings server and put your weight automatically in your LoseIt app. I love this because I never can find my phone in the morning when I weigh myself, or if I walk downstairs to my phone to add my weight I've already forgotten it. You can just step on the scale and it'll log your weight in LoseIt without having to do anything. **Q: Do you have to separate 2.4 & 5ghz wifi to get it to work?** A: Didn't work for me on a 2.4GHz and 5Ghz WiFi network. Just gave up and am returning this thing.
