The South African cooks will tell you that the perfect simmering temp. is when it "burps" 6 to 8 times per minute, so it is slightly like a pressure cooker. And man is it good! **Q: So, how would you cook on electric? It will take a week to reach any reasonable temperature through its legs** A: You don't. It's not designed for cooking on an electric stove.
