Originally they were not made in China but the are now. The puppets were nice and well made and the grand children loved them. I also bought a Melissa and Doug doll house for them and it is still standing. It was very sturdy. **Q: Made in ?** A: China **Q: Are these mashing washable / dryer safe?** A: I’ve washed and air dried mine, and even thrown them in the dryer a time or two and they seem fine. They seemed to take a liking to them right away (along with my silly voices I created for each one). My boys also love to just look and cuddle with them. I just bought the safari set as well to add more stories and entertainment for my twins. Quality seems good to me, I love the designs on the farm set! They are quite small for adults. It works nicely for me because I have “baby hands”.
