Years later, the cap was scratched severely and the point of the pencil had lost a small bushing that added friction to the lead (otherwise, when I pushed the cap to advance the lead, it would simply fall out of the nozzle. I wrote to Pentel stating this, and they wrote back thanking me for my loyalty and sending me the bottom nose piece, and a new cap with new eraser. A very good reliable company that sells precise and durable writing instruments.
