I’m not sure the purpose of the air hose and I wish the label was on the back so it’s not visible but it’s flowing water nicely in my 30 gal so far and it’s quieter than I thought it would be. The attachment to the back wall is kinda upside down IMO you have to slide the connection up which allows the weight to slide out should be the other way around but I managed to get it to stay out after a few attempts.
