From the manufacturer Winsor & Newton Winton Oil Colour Winton is a traditional range of oil colours, made from moderately priced pigments, formulated for student and amateur artists or more accomplished painters requiring large volumes of colour within moderate cost limits. The application of traditional skills and modern colour chemistry techniques has resulted in a range of carefully selected Winton Oil Colours which are of excellent quality. Pigments Winton Oil Colour offers quality and affordability by using moderately priced pigments, rather than reducing the pigment load and compromising colour performance. A high level of pigmentation provides good covering power and tinting strength. While it can't match the superior pigment load of Artists' Oil Colour, the Winton range is much stronger than many other artists' quality ranges. Consistency and Texture The Winton range has a more uniform consistency than Artists' Oil Colour and is slightly stiffer. It offers excellent retention of brush and palette knife strokes. Surface Sheen The sheen of Winton is largely due to the pigments used so the gloss level varies across individual colours. This can be controlled through the selection of surface, the addition of solvent and the mediums used.

**Q: Do I mix these colors with water?**
A: This particular set of oil paint is not water mixable. These paints will repel water, and should instead be mixed with a traditional oil medium or solvent.

**Q: About how long do these paints take to dry?**
A: It actually takes oils approximately 3 years to dry completely. They may be dry to the touch. But they do take that long to completely dry.

**Q: are these paints compatible with the bob ross wet-on-wet technique?**
A: They are.  I get great results wet on wet Bob Ross style.

**Q: The tubes shown in the box are different colors than what you are sending???**
A: The tubes in the box are exactly what was sent to me. I love this oil paint. I use it frequently.
