Since it’s genuine leather, it is susceptible to getting scratched and marked up over time. but that just comes with the territory. I think it makes it looks nicely weathered, and the patina is a nice side effect. Don’t deliberately scrape your nails or your keyboard on it, and it’ll be just fine. It looks really handsome sitting on my desk- much better than a gaming mouse pad! When it finally wears out, maybe in another year, I’ll happily buy another.
