Be warned though, it is not stoneware but ceramic coated with enamel. But still a great product! A great buy! **Q: What materials compose this item?** A: Stoneware - a type of ceramic where the clay is fired to a high enough temperature that the material does not absorb liquid. Stoneware is NOT rock, but a ceramic product. **Q: Is there a minimum amount of water needed? Does it work normally with just one cup?** A: You would just have to figure out water level to put in for one cup of coffee **Q: Bought one as a gift. Developing a crack after a few weeks. Anyone able to get Le creuset to give a replacement?** A: I bought one of these a couple of years ago and the spout chipped. I called Le Creuset and they replaced it promptly. I got the replacement and the same thing happened shortly after. I decided it wasn't worth my time to call again and go through the whole drill again. I'm surprised this product is still available quite frankly.
