## Description

The MOB1 is intended to be installed in the life jacket and is automatically activated when inflated, sending the first warning within 15 seconds. The MOB1 communicates with the ship you were separated from and other ships nearby (up to 5 miles range depending on conditions). To alert rescue authorities, an alternative product communicates the rescueME PLB1 directly via a dedicated search and rescue satellite network. In an emergency rescue, MOB1 provides 2 methods to communicate your position quickly, accurate to a few meters, back to the ship and provides visual display via its built-in strobe light. The best chance of quick rescue if you fall overboard comes from your own ship. Your crew must be immediately aware of the incident and keep track of your position while recovery is being carried out. Even in the temperate seas, it is alarming how quickly a visual view of a man overboard can be lost. Once activated, your MOB1 sends a warning to all AIS receivers and AIS enabled plotters nearby. The built-in GPS ensures that the exact location is sent to your ship and anyone else who may help. Compatibility: Most modern AIS plotters and DSC VHF comply with the standards required for receiving MOB transmissions. However, it is recommended to check compatibility with the device manufacturer, especially if you are using older devices. An additional feature of the MOB1 is its ability to activate the DSC alarm on your vessels VHF and alert your crew to the situation.

**Q: How does this activate? Hydrostatic?**
A: You can activate it manually  or it has an auto deploy via rip cord. The unit attaches to the manual inflate tube on the life jacket and there is a cord that attaches via an adhesive strip to the inflated part of the jacket. So, when the jacket deploys it pulls the rip cord and activates the device.

**Q: Can i test this with my chart plotter, that it sets a mob waypoint?**
A: Yes, but the chart plotter has to be connected to an AIS transceiver, then configure your chart plotter to show the AIS targets on screen.

**Q: Are you able to re-program a new mmsi for a different boat later?**
A: I don't have my device and instructions available to me right now (winter storage) but knowing how it is programmed, I would be astounded if it could not be.

**Q: Could this be used as a Solo Sailer? Can it be programmed to somehow disengage the autopilot so the boat would turn into the wind?**
A: This can be used at sea and would need to be on the person at all times. This type of device cant be programmed.
