The Work Sharp Culinary E5 Upgrade Kit adds versatility to the E5 electric kitchen knife sharpener (sold separately) with 15 Degree and 20 Degree sharpening guides, and specialty sharpening belts optimized to create traditional East and West edge angles. The E5 Upgrade Kit includes two (2) P120 red sharpening belts, one (1) P120ZA blue sharpening belt, one (1) X30 grey sharpening belt, and one (1) X4 white sharpening belt. Each belt is part of a sharpening "recipe" with corresponding angle guides to create and maintain traditional East and West edges. The Nora brand belts are designed to be gentle on knives while creating an amazingly sharp edge - even on today's most advance cutlery steels. **Q: Difference between E5 and new E4 ?**
A: The E4 does not include the ceramic honing rod with the microforge feature and cannot accept the additional guides that the E5 upgrade kit offers. For more information please contact our Customer Service at 1-800-418-1439.

**Q: Does this set fit the E5 sharpener from Williams Sonoma?**
A: Yes, this Upgrade Kit fits the standard E5.
These additional guides are included on the William Sonoma exclusive E5 PLUS.

**Q: fit 220v electric power? (Europe)**
A: Mine was 110 only.  No switch to change voltage. Check with manufacturer to if on is available in 220V.

**Q: Why does video show henckles using 20 degree western guide? henckles says their blades are 15 . which angle is correct.? east or west?**
A: That's incorrect. The video starts by showing that the general guide of 17 degree is removed and a 15 degree guide is installed for the western style knives. The 20 degree guide is used for eastern style knives. Zwilling J.A. Henckels knives 15 degree guide is used, with the exception of santoku knives. The west guide is the correct one for Henckels knives.

These guides work SO well to get a perfect/ consistent edge angle. The belts last surprisingly well. One thing to be aware of is the first sharpening can take a while. If you change the profile of the cutting edge, it takes a few extra passes with the heavy grit belts but once it's there, it is super fast to get the knife back to razor sharp. I think the extra guides are absolutely critical to get the most out of this sharpener.
