It is a mild soap. My personal preference for making homemade laundry soap is using bar lye soap. It seems to clean better if you have clothes that are greasy or stained. **Q: Does the original scent smells like coconut?** A: Joana V. -- doesn't smell like coconut at all. The best way I can describe it, is a light, but generic, soap-y scent. Almost powdery. **Q: What are all the actual ingredients? I need to see before I purchase.** A: From Kirk's website: Ingredients: Coconut soap, water, vegetable glycerin, coconut oil. And: Cleanse and soften your skin with Kirk's Original Coco Castile Soap. This fragrance-free formula contains coconut soap and oil to bring a luxurious lather and gentleness to the skin.
