The internal card allows remote monitoring and control via Web Browser or NMS connection. By utilizing the Power Panel Business Edition Client auto-shutdown software, servers and workstations stay protected from data loss due to power failure. An optional environmental sensor (ENVIROSENSOR) can be added to monitor ambient temperature and humidity. Event logging tracks UPS or ATS PDU events and input/output status records. Automated event notifications via email, SMS text, SNMP Traps, and Syslog server can be setup to insure real time status of changes. Firmware can be updated by users to insure you have the latest features and updates. MD5 security management is also provided to protect the integrity of the network. The cousin product RCCARD105 is a lot cheaper but is severely limited in capability as compared to this one. If cyberpower puts this RMCARD205 at the pricepoint of the RCCARD105, i will put one in every UPS in our realm, which is about qty 300 or so. Review: Exceeded my expectations! - I purchased this card for my Cyberpower OR500LCD I have at home for my networking equipment. My batteries had gone bad but I did not know it until we had a power failure. Determined to not let that happen again I purchased this card so I can better monitor and test the UPS. The first thing I noticed was it could be installed without powering down the UPS. That was great since my family is constantly using the internet. I plugged it into the back of the UPS, hooked it up and it immediately got a DHCP IP address from my router. I used that IP address to log into the web portal to configure it. Everything worked perfectly. I even set up the email portion so I get an email when a UPS event happens. Very nice. Also there is a small program you can download from Cyberpower that makes updating the firmware very easy. No need to fool with FTP stuff. Anyway I am extremely pleased with the card. I was worried after seeing some of the reviews but my card had no trouble. We have multiple devices connected to our rack UPS units and this device allows them to all monitor status and receive shutdown events via cyberpower’s own software on windows or via snmp on other devices like dedicated nas units.
