My research indicated that the difference between the German and any other version could be discerned from the ingredient list - that the German version says Cinnamyl Alcohol as the second last ingredient and that the registered trademark is based in Beiersdorf AG, Germany (as opposed to being made in Mexico and distributed from CT, etc.) This is a lovely cream that feels great on the skin. Not a light-feeling cream, by any means. It feels a little heavier upon application than a lotion would, but that's why this cream is great for dry and damaged skin. I use it on my hands and feet and I've noticed a reduction in the dryness of my hands since starting to use it. My reason for taking one star off the overall rating is due to the condition of all three tins when they arrived in the mail. They were packaged together stacked, with a plastic wrap around them and all of them were a little dented.
