Why? It is not because these magnets are not strong. They are strong. Amazingly, surprisingly strong. And that is exactly the problem. I cannot get the discs apart. They are also a danger to my fingers. And I lost a ceramic knife trying to pry them apart. I also managed to destroy one of the magnets - they are brittle. And still all together.Why must the vendor ship them all pasted together? Why not in safe, separated little bubble packets? Why not a cheap separator tool? Something?The magnets are useless if you can't get them apart to do something. Yes I googled and Amazoned and YouTubed for the wisdom of crowds. Pretty much nada useful info.Eventually yes Man is a tool using animal and I found a combination of plastic scrapers and furniture support wedges that separated the magnets. The little plastic in comes in between each magnet doesn't help at all. I bought bigger magnets in the past and were separated by a thick cardboard piece and had no issues. I wonder why they don't address this issue if several other people on the reviews have complained about not being able to separate them. I was only able to separate 2 but I got bruises on my fingers. I use them to hold a blanket on my car when it is parked and so far the wind has not blown it off. I read another post that said they were very difficult to separate if you let them stick together and they are, but the strong magnetic force is why I bought them, so ...They are fairly pricey at $21 and change for 10, but I looked at quite a few others and these seem to be in line.Update: They worked so well that I bought a second set. These aren't refrierator magnets!
