Simple as that! So no difference in the product at all. **Q: I noticed the total string tension is 4 pounds lighter than non coated. Does less tension make a mellower sound?** A: not sure if its a mellower sound per se. it does make them easier to play. good strings and they do sound good **Q: How well do these strings last if they are put through different tuning setups frequently?** A: Haven't put thru lots of different tuning setups but so far no problems. Great strings - very flexible without breaking. **Q: Debate time! :D In your opinion which is the better-sounding string: the D'Addario EXP phosphor bronze or Elixer nano-web phosphor bronze?** A: The Elixirs have a more trebly snap to them - a very specific sound, maybe a little tinny. The EXPs are definitely warmer, fuller in the bass.
