Its molded in stitched leather-look plastic wheel was becoming a little too smooth after all the skin oils. Plus I wanted to add a little more diameter for grip.This was the next alternative cover in real durable leather versus all the ones that use 'leather-like' words for an imitation I would not trust for long term. Fit well and laced on fine following the instructions. It is more tacky than the smooth, non-perforated leather of the prior one. I'll see how it wears in over time and may or may not try some saddle soap to see if that changes the feel.
