Although I could get it on, I found my shoulders and back aching after a short while where the compression was too tight. As such, I returned the medium for a large and found it a much better fit for me (again, I'm 80kg and around 5'10 - top heavy frame). I'd say that if you have a thick build, unless you want/need a skin tight fit then do consider sizing up if you're near the tipping point of sizes. The fit of the shirt once I got the right shirt was quite nice. I personally liked the fact that you have a tight chest/shoulders, but the length of the arms and torso means there's a bit of looseness there.
