Review: I never write reviews but on this I am compelled to. I needed a new bridge pickup for my Jackson Soloist. I had a SD JB in it, and though I did like it it was rather shrill on the higher strings. I have other guitars with active EMGs which I thought I loved, now not so sure. I love 80s metal, and have a band that is playing just that so I figured I would try the Frankenstein. This thing is simply INCREDIBLE. It honestly slays anything else I have played. Hooked to the same amps, or the same DAW, without even any adjustments it comes ALIVE. The sound is huge, alive, articulation full of natural harmonics. It makes everything you play sound better, though fair to say it is also articulate enough that is if miss a note, or hit a bad one that also comes through clearly. There is no hiding behind a muddy pickup here. I am more than happy with this thing to the point I am ready to pull out all my other EMGs, sell them and buy more Frankies. If you are here... and trying to figure out whether this is the pickup for you to try, especially given the higher than average cost just hit add to cart. Trust me you will be so glad you made the jump. Simply the BEST pickup I have ever played through as I stated above. To those that think pickups only make a minimal difference... you are simply wrong. Buy it!
Review: This has changed the sound of my Ibanez forever. It sounds 100x better than ever before, it sounds better than my zakk wylde epiphone les Paul too. The clarity, the awesome highs and mids make it perfect for me. I couldn't be happier. I'm playing through a 5159 combo which really gives that great early vh tone.

**Q: whats a good match with this pickup for the neck position?**
A: That's tough, kinda matters what guitar it is going in and what tone you are looking for. I guess I would say 490T for a classic smooth rock feel or a 59 classic for more of a cleaner Jazz/Country tone. However if you have the time or access to a good guitar tech something like a stag mag SH-3 with a split coil configuration will give you a huge amount of tonal variations. Texas type growls with some sparkly highs when split.

**Q: What is the resistance of this pickup? What type of magnet?**
A: 14+ DC resistance, Alnico

**Q: Can this pickup have white covers put on it?**
A: No

**Q: How is the bluesy sound on it. I am planning on making it the only pickup in a homemade guitar. Does it have a good range from clean to distortion?**
A: I guess this depends on the blues sound you're looking for. I play through Fender amps and the tone when played clean reminds me of some of the tones BB King had or Billy Gibbons. But for me, the best blues tone is a single coil in the neck position and you're not going to get that kind of clean with this pickup. The distortion side is truly amazing and there is a lot of flexibility on that end for all sorts of dirty type blues. Slide playing sounds good, too. Hope that helps a little.

très bon son EDDIE VAN HALEN les harmonies sont splendides.. emballé dans sa boite d origine avec schémas de montage un vrai délice livré complet j ai pris aussi le même en blanc (evh) rien a redire le volume au minimum le son est splendide on ouvre le gain est c est la puissance très très bon 18/20
