Review: Great for bulk fermenting bread dough - I am using this container, and its associated lid (separate purchase) to bulk ferment my bread dough. This container is well built and should last me many years. Great Product!
Review: Great for proofing bread - When making bread you are supposed to.let dough double in size. I didn't understand the advantage of having a straight sided container for this until I saw a YouTube video on it. The straight sides enable an accurate measurement that you can't get with a bowl or sloped sides. The measurement markings on the sides of this container give useful points of reference too. It is well made, nice and sturdy, small enough for one or two loaves of dough and easy to wash. It does not come with a lid but I use plastic shower cap like covers so that is fine for me.

That's a good question, in that respect ,
this item is free of the chemical Bisphenol A (BPA) and is safe for food contact,also, it can withstand low temperature applications and is safe for freezer storage.

**Q: Is this bowl microwaveable ?**
A: Per Cambro's website: "Withstands -40 °F to 160 °F (-40 °C to 70 °C)". 

I have only used them for proving bread dough. They are dishwasher safe and gentle heating in the microwave might be OK, but these really are food storage containers, not cookware.

**Q: Does this have #5 plastic on the bottom?**
A: Yes
