The old one worked fairly well for many years, but when I replaced the TV, the old plastic parts of the mount broke. It has the same wall bracket design as the old one so I hoped I wouldn't have to replace that part, but this one is taller than the old one. I didn't measure but figured it was worth a try. Super sturdy, and adjusts every way possible. Its in a room with an L shaped couch, and it's great to be able able to adjust for a full couch vs optimized to 1 person. I really like being able to slide to the left so it's directly in front of one of the seats. up/down tilt makes it even better.
