They are soft enough. Knead them between your fingers first, before applying, to soften them a bit further. **Q: Do these fit an infant?** A: The putty can be split to a smaller size and remolded by hand to adjust fit. **Q: Can I dive in the water with these ear plugs in and will they stay in?** A: If you get them stuck in well enough, maybe. I would say they would come loose with diving. We use them with a headband. They are super easy to use and comfortable, they stay in well with a headband over them. They fill up the outer part of the ear to seal it off, they don't really go in like a traditional ear plug. **Q: Why aren't these fsa eligible when my child's ent is who told me to get them?** A: These actually broke pieces off in my daughter’s ear. Leading to surgery to remove them.
