Trying to achieve a deep red, almost purple toned look. Please share your thoughts/experiences with the burgundy? TY!** A: The red henna is the most reddest color but its bronze. It's all natural henna. The burgundy likely has indica in it which wouldn't affect your hair color much, I think. If you leave it on your hair for a long duration, though, you should see some deep long lasting results even on darker hair. You could lighten it a bit with apple cider vinegar or with hydrogen peroxide. If you spray a diluted hydrogen peroxide mixture in your hair and leave it for just a bit it should lighten your hair enough to have the henna's red shades really come through :) **Q: Does this dye only my gray hair? I have never dyed my hair and I just want to dye gray hair. Thank you.** A: So far, it has not completely covered my gray hair. I tried three times. The last time, I mixed the dark brown henna with strong coffee, add a little apple cider vinegar, then let it sit for 8 hours. Then I apply the henna and wait 1 1/2 - 2 hours, which is more than the directions say -- they say 1 1/4 hour without heat. I was hoping to be able to use this instead of conventional dye, but I don't have time to leave it on for four hours every six weeks. So I'm not sure what to do. You can easily see my gray roots, although they are a reddish color. They are still not dark brown. But have like 4 greys that I was tired of looking every time on the mirror lol. So I decided to try something chemical free and found out this product. This is my second time applying it and it really does the job. I bought the dark brown color and the first application lasted about 4 weeks. The smell is not the best, but so much better than the chemical hair dyes you can get in the store. Reminds me to matcha tea.The powder is green color, but once I put it in a bowl and mix it following the instructions it turns darker.My biggest fear was to stain my scalp, but it didn’t. But if you try to grow it out, you will end up with a blue line of demarcation from the gray into the henna and it may take two years or more to grow out. So use this product alone, not with indigo. Lesson learned. And professional colorists may or may not be able to help with the transition.Good product if used alone - you just need to remember it's permanent, it layers inside the hair shaft, so make sure you are ready for the commitment. ### ⭐ Beware! If you bought the dark brown version of this, you're in for a surprise!!! *by on Reviewed in the United States March 16, 2017* Here's what will happen if you have a small amount of gray hair or more, and use this product… It will turn your hair dark reddish orange. I don't know about the other colors that Henna offers and how they perform, but the dark brown version should not be used at all, unless you're dressing up for Halloween and going as Bozo the clown, because that's what it will do to your hair… Sad to say it turned my graying temples and gray in front all dark reddish orangey brown. The only reason I bought this product was because it's all natural and chemical free, and I'm all about organics and purity when it comes to my health, but ironically I had to go and run out and try and cover up this horrible dye job with the chemically laden hair dye " Just for Men"...that's that wonderful product that comes with all kinds of warnings because of possibly all of the radioactive plutonium and isotopes it must contain.. and after re-doing the crappy Henna job with just for men...my hair still looked like carrot top...as well as my head felt like the monster from the alien movie just regurgitated on top of my head and his acid was melting my scalp...my freakin head was on fire...they really should rename that product to something like "Just for Dead Men", so they look good in the coffin… because that stuff is intolerable on any living creature.
