Sateen doesn't really make a difference in my opinion. I've had 600 thread count sheets that were cooler but thinner and weren't as durable. I've noticed with good sheets higher thread count makes for a thicker sheet. I find these to be like a light cotton blanket in the summer. I just bought two more pairs as the pair i bought 10 years ago finally wore out. They are extremely durable but not as thin or soft, think a bit thicker and crisp clean vs soft and fluffy.
