Very flat and thin, but smooth and soft. Very easy to keep clean. A non-slip thick under-pad is highly recommended. The rug colours are much darker and deeper in person than they appear in photos. Even my own camera lightened the appearance. For the price, this was surprisingly far more impressive than I expected.
