At first I was not able to get the videos to save to local storage, even after trying formatting it to both FAT32 and exFAT. Eventually I found a Reddit thread where someone said they were able to get it to work after contacting Blink customer support to update their firmware to 16.0.14, and that's when I noticed that the module I received was on version 15.9.16. Since there didn't seem to be a way to trigger a firmware update on my own (I tried variations of power cycling and holding down the reset button on the module), I called Blink technical phone support (which fortunately runs 24/7. You can find their contact info in the Blink app by navigating to Settings > Help > Contact Support > Call Tech Support). Once the firmware was updated to 16.0.14, videos saved to local storage correctly as expected. Only time will tell the quality of the USB drive and how long it lasts, but it seems to work well out of the box. Additionally, love the clean design and how simple/clean it looks and got it mostly for the mount. p.s. The sync module LED lights are so bright and visible all the way across the room and can be a bit annoying.
