Review: Great speakers! - I installed these in my Jeep YJ. NO, they are NOT easy to install. Not the speakers fault, it's the Jeep's fault.... moving on; These speakers have been abused and they still keep ticking. They sound great, even with the doors and top off at 55mph. At the moment, they are caked with mud. But they still work! Says a lot about them.

These speakers throw a lot of sound with surpringly good lows, highs surpassed my expectations. They are paired with 6x9 Pile marine speakers in the rear working together they provide full rich sound which drowns out the majority of road noise. I bought these for the marine rating I spend a lot of time on the beach with my jeep hopefully these will stand up to the elements as stated. Install is a pain; speakers in jeeps of this vintage seem to have been an afterthought.

**Q: Does the tweeter protrude past the mounting surface, and if so, how far??..Looking to install these in the dash of a '79 Corvette...**
A: The tweeter DOES protrude past the mounting surface.  I cut a 5/16 foam weather strip and lined the outer part of the speaker.  This recessed the tweeter.  I mounted the speakers and they sound great- 1991 Jeep Wrangler YJ.

**Q: What is the actual length and width, including the mounting bracket, for these speakers?  The 4"x 6" measurement doesn't include the mount bracket.**
A: I couldn't tell you, I ordered them a long time ago and dont own the vehicle anymore. I ordered them for my dash speakers and they were the exact fit as my old ones that I pulled out

**Q: What is the hole cutout size required?**
A: Amazon has a tool to tell you if it's compatible for your car. Make, model, year, etc. After going thru a few that said it was not compatible, I came across the Polk ones that said that it was compatible. Well, it was not. I'm good with my hands and made them fit using the original speaker covers and some fabrication. Amazon I'm disappointed. Your tool does not make the grade.they do sound decent. So Amazon your tool seems to have holes in it and only the speakers make the grade not your tool for fitting the right speakers with your car.So there you goUk

**Q: Do they come with grill guards ? Is there a universal grill gaurd for these speakers?**
A: They DONT come with Grills.   Just Buy them separate, they're less then 10$ for a Pair (2) of 4x6 Grills

They sound great, even with the doors and top off at 55mph. At the moment, they are caked with mud. But they still work! Says a lot about them.

These speakers throw a lot of sound with surpringly good lows, highs surpassed my expectations. They are paired with 6x9 Pile marine speakers in the rear working together they provide full rich sound which drowns out the majority of road noise. I bought these for the marine rating I spend a lot of time on the beach with my jeep hopefully these will stand up to the elements as stated. Install is a pain; speakers in jeeps of this vintage seem to have been an afterthought.

These speakers were fairly easy to install but the holes didn’t match up completely with my car. They have already been rained on and have no sound difference whatsoever
