**Q: Can these be installed into drywall without a stud?**
A: You probably could with wall anchors.  Just remember you only have drywall holding it up.  I prefer a stud.  They are fairly light and the switch is fairly soft without a lot of impact on the wall board,.  you have a backplate to secure to the wall and then the lamp covers that plate and is screwed on.  Overall. I'm pleased.  Installation is fairly intuitive but read the instructions anyway.

**Q: What size is the wall plate? I need width in inches please. Thank you.**
A: 4 1/2 inches.......mounting screws 2 5/8 inches from each other

I wanted to replace my lamps on my side table with sconce like lamps on wall and these are it!!’ They are high quality, you can either hard wire them or plug them in. They are great colors easy to install and great value for money! These were the perfect size and look so much more expensive. They have a swing arm which makes it very functional. They are not dimmable or at least I Don’t think so. Get these! They are great!
