The camshafts on the ECOTEC engines must be held when removing or installing the cam phaser bolts, or the timing chain may slip and not keep its relationship to the phasers. 2. Current service methods use an open end wrench to hold the cam, and can be very awkward, especially for in-vehicle service. 3. EN-48953 mounts to the front of the block and its tabs engage both cam phasers to hold them so the phaser bolts may be serviced. 4. Note: when installing timing chains and phasers on the 2.4 ecotec engine, this tool is used in order to aid installation and prevent too much torque to be put on the chain while torquing to yield at 22lb ft + 100 degrees. Use common sense and you will be alright. ### ⭐ Junk *by D***E on November 2, 2024* I took it out of the box and the bolts were too large for the holes in the head. I used different bolts to hold it in place. I started torquing the bolts and one of the tabs broke off that was holding the cam phaser in place.
