I saw that Albertson's is supposed to have some at about the same price and some Walmarts have it also **Q: Why so much? I just bout a jar at my supermarket for around $5.00. Same exact thing.** A: Believe it or not, none of my grocery stores carried this item, & when questioned as to why I was told it was strictly a seasonal item & did not sell well. **Q: None Such says its mincemeat has a shelf life of 3 years beyond the manufacturing/production date. How do you find that date on the jar?** A: It is on the side of the jar lid. I would just suggest you open the jar and smell the mincemeat. I did this a couple of years ago. It still smelled good and tasted good before and after it was cooked. **Q: Does this actually have an alcohol content? Or did it cook off?** A: The flavors remain, but the alcohol cooks off.
