**Q: What is the difference between red and purple stitching?**
A: The color of the stripe makes no difference. Its the width that makes the difference.

**Q: Can this be used with ethanol fuel?**
A: It is a wick so it woukd travel up the wick, but i have never used ethanol as a fuel so i am not sure if the wick and ethanol would burn together or just the ethanol

**Q: Is this actually flat or is it a flat round tube?**
A: It is a flat wick. We use it in an oil lame that is from the 1800s.

**Q: Can this be be use for self water plants, will this rot?**
A: I have used this wick for oil lamps for quite some time, and no appearance of rot has ever appeared. I wouldn't think so, but I have no experience using this wick in the medium of water.
