We got it to use with our Big Green Egg. We do a lot of cooking competitions and we decided to slow cook pork. We got this to keep an accurate reading as the digital thermometers we have been using cause the Egg to loose too much heat. This has a long enough wire to fit outside the egg and it's thin enough that it does not cause any heat loss. The accuracy is right on point with the Palermo digital meat thermometer that we use.
