For grinding, ordinary kitchen mixer-grinder is ok. It is best to grind small quantities as and when needed. Most ground coffee which is cheap, contains chicory. Remember, pure coffee is expensive. Chicory makes it cheaper. Some people like the taste of chicory though. Generally, coffees are sold as a mix of Arabica (superior) and Robusta (inferior). A good balance of Arabica/Robusta at an effective price is quite palatable. I would definitely go for 100% Arabica. There are some good International brands. Lavazza is one of them. Though the beans are Indian Arabica, the brand is Italian Lavazza. The taste depends on the brand a lot of times. Lavazza is reliable. At Rs. 800 a kilo, it is the cheapest price I have paid for Arabica beans. The taste is the best I have tasted so far. India is considered among the top coffee producing regions in the world.
