This is supposed to be gentle and doesn't strip vital oils from the hair. It smells nice too although it isn't a strong scent , it lathers easily and washes out leaving my beard soft and clean. Prorasso makes lots of great Shaving products which I have used before, now I'm not shaving, it's nice to still use Prorasso. My pump worked fine… You may have to take the pump out and try different maneuvers to get it to work.
