I was using the softer/spongier mats, but they became so gross so quickly. This easily rinses right off. We typically store it upside down so that the suction cups dry completely. I haven’t noticed any mold even after 2 months of use. We have a slightly textured tub surface and the suction cups hold extremely well. My only concern is that it can still get a little bit slippery.
