オチは軽いけれど、内容は重い絵本だと思います。　他人と交流するのを嫌う気難し屋のネズミ、エドガー。一人になりたいのに、朝からずっとミミズに追い回されて、怒りも頂点に（表紙の、怒り狂ってるネズミの絵の通り！）　さて、今まで散々他の動物たちを遠ざけてきたエドガーを、助けてくれる人はいるのか？　小さい子供さんには、オチだけで十分楽しめると思います。（「読む前に種明かしは絶対にしないでください！」系の絵本です（笑））　ただ、最初から最後まで怒りの感情の絵が続くので、子供向けの絵本として楽しいか？と言われると、決して「うん」とは言えません。全ページ、不穏な緊張の続く本です。嫌がるお子さんもいるかもしれません。　大人にとっては、偏屈に他人を排除し続ける人、またその行為が、他人から見ればいかに滑稽なものであるかを、読者（＝第三者）の目からずしっと考えさせてくれる本でした。
