Although the okuma bait feeders are cheaper and work well, the quality is lacking like crazy. Shimano is eons above pretty much every other bait runner reels out there. You absolutely get what you pay for with these reels. They are well worth the extra money. My dad and I still have the older Shimano 6500 reels and work great. Keep in mind they are 20+ years old and have been abused. These newer ones are tanks and very very smooth. They are very durable and we have been using them for a long time. The only thing I wish was the clicker was a little louder. That being said, they have the loudest clickers of any spinning reel. Louder than all of the okumas and penns by a fair amount.
