I thought the price was high, compared to similar products, but it's what I paid through my cellular service company 6 years ago. The mount broke in my truck, so I needed one desperately. Vent-type mounts don't work on my vertical vents (have tried many). While I didn't need another phone grip, I decided to order this because it appears to be an original, exactly what I had (and what I had, was great); and the newer versions have mixed reviews. I generally use 2 hands to insert & remove my phone from the mount, and I think that's why it works for me (using one hand to remove, while driving, is what broke it). The mount itself adheres very well. Clean the intended surface with alcohol, remove the protective sticker, and press on for 30 seconds; let it sit overnight; and you're good to go. I don't know if the new versions are sturdier, and maybe in 6+ years I'll have to find out.
