The DAC-10H incorporates a high-end preamp capable of driving the power amplifier directly. The DAC-10H includes features borrowed from the Reference class P-20 preamp, including an advanced, thin-film switched-resistor ladder network for controlling volume, which provides a single resistor in the signal path at any volume setting. It also has individually adjustable volume on each input for precise source level matching and volume adjustment in 99 precise, 0.5dB increments. Utilizing the world's best performing 32-bit audio DAC is only a first step for designing the ultimate DAC. Notable features include five digital inputs and two stereo inputs. Inputs consist of one USB digital, two coaxial digital S/PDIF, two optical digital S/PDIF, and two analog stereo RCA. I use it both balanced and singled-ended into different headphone amps. As usual for me, I prefer the balanced, but both sounded great, and it's good to have the option for either. The headphone amp included in the DAC is great, too. I would say the sound through XLR and RCA outputs is not quite as good as from feeding the DAC to my headphone amps, but it is close. If someone were in the market for a DAC and did not have a headphone amp, they would be more than satisfied with just this unit. Appearance and form factor are less important factors, but FWIW it's beautiful in appearance and rather hefty, so it impresses for build quality. It has a remote, which is useful because the face plate buttons in a dark room, like where i use it, are hard to see and take a little getting used to if you want to go by touch. But that's a minor issue.I received an earlier version of this and ran into a voltage issue. This eventually came to my having to return the unit for replacement. As the unit had to be shipped from China, it took a few weeks. I had other DACs so it was no great inconvenience and i've bought from China and Japan before so I was prepared. The bottom line: at the end, NuPrime did work to make the customer happy, and I would buy from them again and can say that a purchaser of this unit will be happy as well.Overall, given the price and what you get, this is hard to beat. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Not as good as the price is high. *by F***R on Reviewed in the United States on May 24, 2021* NuPrime is just an ok DAC. O bought a new one that is virtually ibdentical to this one. Same model The remote control is a nightmare. It is made from octagobal steel pipe with moving roda and buttons suspended on the rods. I was using it first as just a headphone amp and it was pretty good. Clean, powerful enough for any headphone you throw its way. Then I add a headphone amp (Topping A90) Oh my word. The best dac I have ever heard or owned.
