Aside from the shape they are hard as nails (oops a pun). When I used the regular type toe nail clippers it's difficult and I cut into her flesh, but I will wear my glasses from now on doing them. She had a visit with the podiatrist and he used this similar pliers type and I thought maybe I should buy one.I was looking at some on line and some are as much as $50. I thought that was way out of hand, so I went to these, which also includes a cuticle clipper. This does the trick. All I do is go around the curved nails a little at a time.
