Review: Great doggy bed! Some pooches might need a bit of coaxing to get used to it...ours did, but now he loves it! - Our rat terrier is getting on in years and suffers quite a bit from the cold--for a long time he was fine as long as we put on a doggy sweater or vest for going outdoors, and he definitely needed a blanket to cover him at night even though his bed was located in the warmest spot in the house...if anyone forgot to tuck him in or didn't get around to it fast enough he would stand and glare at the offending party until the matter was settled! I saw these last winter and thought one of them would be great for him, but we hesitated because of the cost, and also because I wasn't sure how well he would take to a new bed (he is a bit of a stubborn old cuss) and I wondered how durable it would turn out to be--so ended up not doing anything until this year. As a short-haired dog, he has always been sensitive to the cold, but this year has been worse; his coat has gotten thinner and he has been quite miserable, shivering more than usual and even while wearing a thick and heavy wool Chilly Dog sweater, so we decided to go ahead and take a chance on this bed. I ran across this model (the luxury has the microsuede fabric vs the basic cotton blend on the regular version) at a great price. I read many of the reviews to help determine which size to get and ended up ordering the large size bed...it arrived yesterday and looks much nicer than I expected (I have to admit I was a bit concerned about ordering this sight unseen simply because we have purchased so many dog beds that turned out to be cheaply made or would fall apart in no time) but this one seems to be very well constructed. It is nice and thick and I like that the cushion can be removed so the covering can be washed. The fleecy part seems warm and cozy. At first, he didn't realize he was supposed to get inside of the bed and he insisted on laying on top of it. Even when we held it open and tried to encourage him to enter, he wasn't having it. I read some of the reviews of people with similar problems and was worried that I had wasted a lot of money on something that wasn't going to get used. Finally, my husband just gathered him up and deposited him inside--he was disgruntled, but then it took him about 3 seconds to decide he really liked it in there! The next time, he wanted to get in by himself, but he was a still a bit reluctant and someone needed to hold the cover up--the inner support doesn't hold it open as far as it appears in the picture (it looks a bit like a slightly collapsed tent--hard to tell how generous the opening really is) but he got used to it after a couple of tries and now he is in and out whenever he wants. Outside of the opening, the bed looks exactly as pictured--the cushion is really thick and soft (he just kind of burrows into it) and the fleece is is also soft and very plush. This is a great dog bed and he is absolutely reveling in it...one of our other dogs is a bit jealous, and she wants to get in, too, but so far he has been resistant to inviting guests to share his new bed. He is a fairly small dog and only weighs about 15 or 16 pounds so there is more than enough room for him. There is space for the other dog, too but it would probably be a pretty tight fit for the two of them (she is about twice as big--perhaps 35 or 40 pounds, and I think this large size bed would be perfect for a dog of her size). Initially I thought the small model might be best, but the large was on sale for only two dollars more, so that's the one I bought, and it was the right choice. We have yet another dog--an Akita, pretty good sized--maybe 80-85 pounds or so and he would not even come lose to being able to comfortably fit in this bed (in case this information helps anyone else choose a size). Luckily for my budget, the other dogs are content with their current dog beds + they have plenty of fur to help keep them warm!
Review: My dog now has a serious issue.... - I have to say, I am quite impressed with the effects of this bed. We have 3 dogs total, 2 chihuahuas, one brussels griffon(well, I had one well behaved dog, but then I decided to let the gf move in after an extended period of time and ended up with 2 more dogs). One of them lives in a cage whom I could care less about, as she is spawned from the evil lord satan himself. The brussels griffon and other chihuahua are pretty content with sitting next to us on the couch though on a typical day. The chihuahua LOVES to burrow into anything it can find though. Whether it be towels, comforters, sheets, clothes. He also is very high energy. He leaps from one of my expensive leather couches to the other expensive leather couch with no regard. When I saw this bed on desertcart, I knew that this dog would love it. So I purchased a large bed (I wanted all 3 dogs to fit in there if need be). Day 1: Opened up the box, pulled out the bed. I was very impressed with the quality of the bed. It was actually better built than I was expecting. In fact, I kinda just bought this on a drunken Christmas desertcart shopping spree. Usually I am very nit picky about features and quality, alas, my concerns were quelled quickly. One thing I noticed was that the opening is actually supported by a rather firm piece of metal. I would say it was akin to how a camping tent rod feels and acts. It kind of props the entrance open. This is actually a pretty nice feature, because I can get a glimpse into the bed and see which dog is in there and refusing to respond to me. So, here comes the doggy test. I drop the satan dog in the pouch, she just runs out screaming and hissing back to her cage with her tail stuck between her legs like she just got caught between a Rihanna and Chris Brown altercation. No surprise there. Whatever, I hate that dog. So off to doggie #2, the brussels. Now, she actually enjoyed the bed a bit when I dropped her in, but she was VERY skeptical about what this new, warm, fuzzy contraption was. So she jumped off and went about her normal daily business only to end up back on the couch with me (which I don't mind because she never moves). Now, for the 3rd dog....well, let me tell you. I dumped his unsuspecting butt into the bed, and I swear I dumped him into a black hole. I didn't see the dog come out for the rest of the day. Day 2-3 On the second day, I left for work before the dogs were fed, and got home after they were fed. I felt like I didn't even own but 1 dog again. I hadn't even seen dog #3 for 3 days. He just slept in the bed. 2 Weeks Well, a couple weeks later and dog #3 has found a new place to pass away. I don't think he is coming out of there. I have never seen a dog so content. The other 2 dogs aren't afraid anymore, and they like to sleep on it as well. Although the brussels just likes to lay on top of it, while the chihuahua's like to cozy up inside. It fits all 3 dogs nicely though! I have to say, it is an excellent product. Conclusion: This is a high quality product, that will last a long time and provide your burrowing buddy a sanctuary within the sanctuary. Do your pet a favor, and splurge a little on them. They will LOVE you for it. And for me, it was a great way to save my couch. EDIT (8/1/2016): I wanted to provide an update on this particular product. It's been almost 4 years since I originally purchased my Cozy Cave for the dogs. It has seen consistent daily use between multiple animals. The dogs decided, on their own mind you, that this was where they wanted to keep all their toys too. It's been buried into, laid on, and horsed around in daily. It has truly been put through the paces of time, use, and doggy abuse. Let me just say, this thing has performed rock solid. Devil horns be damned, this thing chews up and spits out even the most crazy Chihuahua incidents without even noticing. The quality, the stitching, the zippers, the tent pole all remain just as in tact as the day it was bequeathed upon us by the doggy gods. The only thing that ever was in need of attention was the stuffing. Considering how highly used it is, it would be unreasonable to expect the stuffing to stay as "cloud like" as the day it rained down from heaven. Not an issue though, as re-stuffing it was a breeze. However, be very careful removing this from the doggy territory for washing/restuffing. I'm pretty sure my brussels thinks I'm taking it away forever every time I wash it, because she angry poops where the missing bed is without fail. Every. Single. Time. So aside from having to restuff it every few years, and the angry poops from washing it, it's served it purpose 10 fold. If this one ever bites the dust, you can sure bet I'm in for another one. Heck, at this point in time, I'm half tempted to get one for myself! But i'm sure the dogs would just kick me out of it and claim it as their own.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is the cover removable, and machine washable?**
A: Yes, the cover is removable and machine washable! The inner pillow should be spot cleaned by spraying a combination of warm water, a little distilled vinegar, and pet-safe cleaner. Gently blot with a cloth and allow to fully dry before reassembling.

**Q: Can the Snoozer Cozy Cave dog bed help with dog anxiety?**
A: The Cozy Cave is designed to support dogs’ natural burrowing and nesting instincts. The enclosed, covered design creates a cozy, secure space dogs find relaxing. It can even help pups who like to hide or feel tucked in during loud, stressful moments.

**Q: What breed is this bed good for?**
A: The Cozy Cave is great for ANY pup who loves to burrow, dig, and disappear under blankets. The soft sherpa interior is also good for smaller, older, or shorter haired dogs who tend to get cold easily. Popular among Dachshunds, Vizslas, GSPs and more!

**Q: Is it easy for dogs to get in and out of?**
A: Many dogs hop right in and love it. If yours needs help, try placing treats inside or showing them (yes, it’s THAT cozy). Keep the hood rod for a propped-open easy entry, or remove it for a lay-flat blanket that dogs can dig under or lay on top of.

**Q: Can I return a Cozy Cave after I purchase?**
A: We are a small, family-owned, American business. Unfortunately, we cannot afford to absorb return shipping costs and must deduct shipping and a restocking fee from all refunds. Measure twice, order once! We appreciate your support of US businesses.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very nice! Pup approved!
*by D***R on March 19, 2026*

For a small one its pretty dang big! Perfect for my lil pup! I wasnt expecting there to be a bar into the thing, but i had to sorta make my dog get into it and upon getting inside she bumped her head on the bar. Lol shes fine but i believe she approves of it. Real reason behind getting this is she sleeps on my couch next to me and i have a cat, and i have a 76 inches tall cat tree behind the couch cuz she likes to watch tv too. And sometimes she will think shes being funny and will annoy the crap out of my pup, so with the covering, should give her some better protection against a cat. Lol especially if my cat decides to jump down from the top of the cat tree down onto my dogs side of the couch lol.
