Its excellent capabilities and performance made it very successful for the US Marine Corps. The F4U had long production life span and was last produced in 1952. It had max speed of 417 mph and carried six.50 caliber machine guns or four 20-mm cannons, as well as pair of 2000 lb. bombs and six rockets. The whole plane is diecast metal except for the propeller which is plastic so take care when removing so you don't break off a propeller blade. The Corsair also has a bomb or drop tank which I assume cannot be removed but I might be wrong on that. The propeller does spin and is larger than propellers on other Postage stamp models. Review: I love collecting these WW2 Diecast Models - The F4U Corsair diecast model is particularly cool because of its dark blue colours. A lot of these diecast models from WW2 era are either a camouflage or a pale grey colour... so they start to blend together after a while. But not this Corsair! The dark blue colour combined with the unique sloped wing design make it a stand out in my collection.
