## Description

Product description TP542 13dBi WiFi High-Gain Panel Antenna Panel antenna is used to radiate the signal into the forward space. The primary purpose is to reach places where a device with a default antenna would not reach. It is designed for use on stationary objects such as buildings or houses, but it is widely used for remote connection at campgrounds, RV motorhomes, boats, or remote devices like WiFi cameras. Antenna collects the signal and sends it through the cable to a networking device. It is equipped with an N-Female connector and it is ready to connect to a device with a proper extension cable. It requires a 50 Ohm RF coax expansion cable with N-Male connector on the antenna side and connector type that fits the device on the other side. As a rule of thumb, always use the shortest line and thickest cable to avoid signal loss. Do not use RG59/RG6 coax (75 Ohm TV cable) – signal will be seriously degraded. Dual-Band covers both 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequency spectrum. Dual-band or multi-frequencies equipment is capable of transmitting a signal in either of two different standard frequency ranges. The primary differences between the 2.4 GHz and 5GHz wireless frequencies are range and bandwidth; while the 5GHz range provides faster data rates but at a shorter distance, 2.4GHz offers coverage for further distances but may perform at slower speeds. The router or access point device needs to have a detachable external antenna connector that supports both ranges in a single antenna. Directional Long Range Point-To-Point This directional antenna is designed for point to point directional wireless applications. To maximize the benefits of this antenna type, point the signal beam to a remote WiFi node. It provides the most focused 13dBi signal in a narrow beamwidth of ~40° horizontally and ~35° vertically. The distance this antenna can reach may vary based on obstacles on the antenna path to the remote WiFi node like walls, trees, and other objects. The best signal gain is when a “direct line of sight” between the antenna and the remote location is possible. Gain: 13 dBi • Frequency: 2400-2500/5150-5850 MHz • VSWR: 20 dB • Max Input Power: 100W INSTALLATION Mechanical Data Connector : N Female Dimension: 5.52x4.73x1.58 inch Weight: 1.32lb Reflector Material: Aluminum Alloy Radome Material: Weatherproof ABS Mast Size: Ø30-Ø50mm (not included) Rated Wind Velocity: 210km/h • Operating Operating temperature: -40~+65℃ Parts included: mounting bracket, U-bolt, washers and screws 1. Remove plastic protectors from screws on the back of antenna. 2. Attach the mounting bracket on those screws and secure with washers and screws nuts. 3. Insert U-bolt around .5” to 2” pole, put the mounting plate from opposite side, and now ends of U-bolt through mounting bracket and secure with washers and screw nuts. Use 50 Ohm RF coax cables Keep cables as short as possible

Review: Excellent directional dual band WiFi antenna. Superb build quality. - Bravo TUPAVCO !! This antenna gives an excellent directional boost to 2.4 and 5GHz WiFi Signals. I have amateur and commercial FCC radio licenses and have purchased and built many antennas over the years. This is a nicely built and performing antenna. At WiFi frequencies exact antenna, connector and cable tolerances must be maintained. I'm using it as part of a 5GHz band WiFi Wireless Bridge from my garage to the house. This antenna is outside on the garage as seen in the photos. My wireless bridge router will also give 2.4GHz WiFi access through the bridge as well as to the ethernet connection ports. The signal increase was as advertised. On the 5GHz band (channel 153) my signal improved from -70dBm to - 50dBm using the Android version of the WiFi Analytics app by Netgear. In other words, the signal went from poor to excellent. As a result of the stronger signal the network speed increased from 100Mbps to 700Mbps . This compares the signal with standard omni-directional antennas vs with the TUPAVCO directional antenna replacing one of the omni antennas at the bridge side of the network. Although I didn't test the actual 2.4 band increase, it gave a significantly stronger signal on my cell phone WiFi through the wireless bridge. I'm very pleased with this considering the 50 foot distance and an outside wall with a glass sliding door between the host and bridge routers. The technical specifications provided in the box are impressive and backed by solid performance. The radome and housing are sturdy and weather-proof. It should last for many years. The hardware appears to be stainless steel with nuts, washers, lock washers, U-clamp, and bracket provided. The N-connector on the back is mounted solidly to the rear plate. The connecting cable is NOT provided - the kit only includes the antenna and mounting hardware , which is very reasonably priced for the excellent build quality and performance. I needed a 10 foot cable which will have some moderate signal loss. At 5GHz the coax cable must be as short as possible - and good quality - or the antenna gain will be lost in the cable. This is a specialized antenna that is highly recommended to those who need a directional gain antenna.
Review: Problem Solved :: Thank you!!! - Like many others, I have my wireless router and modem in the garage of the main house. My office is across the driveway (150 feet or so), and my wifi signal had to go through 2 garage doors and simply was unreliable. In my office building I have a repeater. Both the router and repeater are Amped Wireless products (good stuff). I attached the new antenna to one channel of my repeater and the results were amazing. This was the easy and cheap solution that I hoped to find. Both the 2.4 Ghz and 5.0 Ghz channels are performing wonderfully. I don't know if adding another one of these antennas to the router side would further help, but I might just give it a try. UPDATE: I added the second antenna so now I have one attached to the extender (remote repeater) and one to the wireless router. My link is solid with download speeds of 60 Mbps and upload speeds of 6 Mbps. The remote antenna is connected with a one meter cable, on the router side I used a 25 foot cable. I was concerned that the longer cable might degrade the performance, but it did not.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: will this work with Mac operating systems or only pc based systems?**
A: The antenna is connected to your router so the operating system of the computer is irrelevant

**Q: Battery powered?**
A: This is the antenna ONLY, it has to be connected to another wifi device (card/access point/repeater). There is no power requirements for this device, what you are asking would be for the device this antenna connects to.

**Q: My Asus Router has three removable antennas. Does it matter which one is replaced with this panel antenna?**
A: If you router is dual frequency (2.5/5GHz), each antenna is rated for both frequency. I used middle one of the three. You can replace anyone with direct antenna. Very important, point directly toward area you want to target (straight beam like X), it is not Omnidirectional (circular beams). Good Luck.

**Q: Will this boost the weak wifi signal from the RV park that we go to that is about 400 ft away from our camper?**
A: That is exactly what I use it for, and it works great. I have it connected to my Ubiquiti Bullet M2, so just make sure you have the correct connectors/cables to connect this antenna to the device you want to use the signal with.

### ⭐⭐⭐ Works, but won't see distant signal
*by W***S on March 2, 2023*

I bought this antenna to use in my RV parked out at a rural lake property I'm building a house on until I can get hard wired broadband. I have two neighbors broadcasting wifi nodes from 350 and 200 ft away. There are only very light trees obstructing line of sight but it won't even detect the access node. I can however "see" these nodes with my phone's wifi, just have to move slightly closer to connect with decent signal strength. If I setup a wifi hotspot with my phone nearby this antenna works very well. I suspect that the coax cable I purchased separately is too small, doesn't have the requisite cross section to support a hi gain antenna without diminishing the standing wave ratio. The solution would be custom to fabricate thicker coax by soldering the correct connectors on. So I will look in to buying those. And next week I will go out and see how far away it will pick up my phone's signal, and edit this review afterwards. There is also the issue of grounding, which it is not at this time. But otherwise, my experience is that the antenna itself is seldom the problem with performance issues. Same with trees, unless they are numerous. I believe I can make this work but for now am only giving it two stars. Edit 20 Mar 2023: the seller has issued me a full refund. Additionally, I moved phone 50ft away and this antenna had a diminished but serviceable signal. But at 100 ft away it dropped to almost nothing. This is unfortunate but I am made whole by the seller. Would buy again it I had some assurance the product performed as claimed.
