I have it set to turn on any time I open a door or unlock the truck. You can set it to always be on or always be off as well. Similar to the cab lights. I hope this helps. **Q: Breathable Port. Is there a port to allow air flow so these lights don’t fog up?** A: They will not fog up ! These lights are super bright. 🦅stinger 🦅 **Q: Toyota 2016 will they work?** A: I don't believe they'll work for a 2016. They're designed to fit into holes in the bed that come from the factory. **Q: 2020 no bed lights and no existing switch? Suggestions** A: This worked on my 2021 Tacoma.
