The ergonomically designed S4 Safety Cutter from Pacific Handy Cutter was created with in-store safety and efficiency in mind. It's been fine-tuned and rigorously tested to make box cutting easy, safe and comfortable. Made from rigid metal, the S4 guards won't break or bend like other cutters. Safety guards cover the blade at all times during top cutting to protect the user while opening cardboard boxes or unloading pallets. The guards also help set and control the angle of your cut, eliminating damaged product and ensuring precision. Utilize the heavy-duty tape splitter for opening boxes to preserve your blade and avoid dulling. The S4 offers three multi-use, adjustable blade depth positions: Top cut, shallow tray cut and deep cut. It also features easily replaceable blades and can even store up to 5 blades. **Q: How many blades can you fit in the spare blade compartment on the box cutter?**
A: Five.  The blades we use, PHCSP017 Replacement Blades, come in packs of five, and a whole pack will fit in there.  However, you might have to slip them in just one or two at a time, because you have to slide them in at kind of an angle; you can't just shove a whole stack of blades into that little pull-out compartment on the butt of the cutter.  But if you slide them in one, maybe two at a time, and just let them drop into the compartment, it will comfortably hold a whole stack of five blades.

**Q: Does it have a belt clip?**
A: The cutter itself doesn't have a belt clip, but Phc makes a holster that will clip to your belt. A little over three bucks, check Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/Plastic-Utility-Knife-Holster-Cutters/dp/B00SHEPMFE.

**Q: I removed the blade to turn it around, and now i can't get it back in. Help?**
A: Keep the blade slider fully extended. Carefully insert the used end into the chamber behind the silver end piece and load the hole onto the stub on which the blade rests. Secure in place and press the green stub at the bottom and retract the blade back to full closure. I wish I could show a video of this. It takes practice, but trust me it gets easier. Just be careful the silver thumb guide can get in the way, making it hard to get the blade in. I hope this is of some use.

A: It is 6 inches long.

Best box cutter for cardboard boxes. There is a belt clip available for this model but fits well in your pocket, so I never bothered. Important modification. I ground off the "tape breaker point". It is not needed and just pokes wholes in you pocket lining. You can use a grinder or mettal file. The metal is soft iron. One of them I ground off the tape breaker at work for a friends by scraping it back and forth on the rough concreate. That worked just fine also. I have always carried these in my pockets for more than 20 years now. The original I bought is still working strong. Needs a little oil now and then to keep it opening and closing smoothly. For all day warehouse work. I change to a new blade about once a week. Buy extra blades. They are cheaper with today dollars, than tommorow dollars.
